Frankenpolish?!

Hello everyone!!

Okay so some of you may not know this, but I'm a messy confused disorganized hippy! Most nail art girls I follow have lovely shelves or nail polish racks with all their polishes and nail art tools arranged by colour or brand and it's soooo nice... I'm the complete opposite. I have a shelf rack full of random stuff, a suitcase full of more stuff and several other bags and boxes of random shit under my bed or shoved away somewhere impractical.

I don't like to see things go to waste so when I have an almost empty bottle of polish that I can't use I don't throw it away. That would be stupidly dumb.
I get stir-crazy a lot and I have to be creative to keep myself insane in the membrane. But sometimes I just can't be arsed to paint a super-mental complex nail art design. Know what I mean? So I went crazy with a few half empty bottles and made a couple of new unique colours, as you can see here....

Here's another design I made by layering the purple franken I used in the video over one of my favourite matt glitters: Accessorize, Leopard Moth. It looked so cool on my newly cut "short nails" and I thought that just a simple accent nail would suffice.

I'm an extremely eccentric person and I usually like to have something insanely mental and weird, or controversial and rainbowy on my nails. But I know that a lot of people who love nail art still like to be classy and not draw too much attention to themselves. Those people do cross my mind a lot which is why I've started doing a few simple and easy manicures. Like I said, variety is the spice of life!

I will ALWAYS be an insanely mental rainbowcat and I have wayyyy too many crazy colourful ideas I still haven't shared yet so don't panic, I haven't suddenly turned into a nun!
But let me know what you think. If you guys like these occasional sweet and simple nails then let me know and I'll continue to share them :)

Thanks for reading

I Love Short Nails Too!

So I did a nail art design that I thought was nice and simple to recreate. I personally think most designs can be done on any length of nail, long or short. You just have to either paint it smaller, or slightly less of the design. It still looks awesome whatever size it is :)

I had a few comments asking if this one could be done on short nails.

So I retrieved four of my smallest practice nails and cut them as short as I could. I think this design was actually easier to paint on short nails because I did the heart in only two strokes and it wasn't difficult to get a straight line for the chain with less space.

I hope this will remind everyone that you don't need pterodactyl talons to wear fabulous nail art :)

Much love to you all and have a sparkly weekend!!

Life is a Love Story

Every year, in the land of the internetz, February comes and everyone starts being all romantic and talking about how AWESOME Valentine's day is and that they're going to have a romantic evening with the love of their life and everything is pink and fluffy and everyone's sooooo in love...
And then there are other people who don't always feel the love. Valentine's day turns into "Single Awareness Day" and the people spreading the love and boasting about their hot dates will cause the lonely people to be even more depressed.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't be proud and full of love on Valentine's day, or any other day. But this year I thought I'd spare a thought for anyone who may have been through sad times while everyone else seems to be meeting their Prince Charming and leaving you behind...
But I did it in a creative, weird and cute way because I didn't want to make everyone depressed. LOL! For those of you who didn't come from YouTube, here is the tale of Lola and Dave.

Lola and Dave are fictional characters that I created and it is not based on a true story. It's a sad story I made up. I always thought it was sad when balloons get lost and float up into the sky on their own, and end up tangled up in trees... it's almost like seeing a crushed up car. Like a wreckage of something that was once pretty and made everyone smile.

I've never fallen in love with a balloon and lost them to archery enthusiasts. That was just an example of many possible obstacles life might throw at you.
But I know what it's like to have someone who means the entire world to you. Someone you can't imagine being without. Almost as if you couldn't breathe without them. Someone who is your everything.
I know what it's like to have all that, and to then have nothing. Over and out. On my own with no one to laugh with or hold my hand. Like someone sweeping the carpet from under your feet.
And it's a million times worse when everyone's celebrating their love and getting romantic without you.
It's not so bad though. Who says you need a boyfriend or girlfriend to complete you? Valentine's day is all about sharing the love you have for people. You love your mum, dad, friends, sistaz from anutha mistaz, etc... right?

Perhaps Lola was repaired with duct tape. Perhaps Dave was stuck in the trees for years waiting for another lady balloon to untie him. The point is, Dave healed in time and found happiness in the end.

Some people float away forever with their childhood sweethearts. It took me twenty three years to find my balloon. Some people don't find their balloons for 50 years.
Some are greedy and have LOTS of balloons!! Hahaha.
Wherever and however slowly the wind takes you, it's always worth it in the end.
Both Dave and Lola are happy again and I've heard they're friends on Facebook now too.
Happy Valentines to everyone in the world. And massive snogs to everyone who isn't blood related to me. ;)

Intimate Unicorn Parts

Ok so I've done unicorn farts. I've done unicorn drool and I've done unicorn germs.
I will eventually do actual unicorn nails, but until then I have made it my mission to paint as many unicorn substances as possible.

Whilst video surfing, I came across this old cutepolish kiwi design. I remember watching it aaaaages ago and I thought it was pretty neat but I've never tried it out or re-created it.

That's when I thought: If they were rainbow, they could be...
UNICORN BUTTHOLES!!

So yeah. That's how you turn a piece of fruit into a piece of unicorn.

OOH a piece of unicorn... ooh a piece of unicorn.....  ooh a piece of unicorn.... ooh a piece of unicorn...

STOP!! IT'S A TRAP!!!!
